Women's networks
The Virginia Network
The Virginia Network is a program of the American Council on Education's (ACE) Office of Women in Higher Education. The Network is designed to promote women's leadership in higher education and society; to create an educational, social, and political climate in which women can participate equally with men; to facilitate connections among women in various sectors with shared goals; and to foster strategic alliances and facilitate effective partnerships between women and men in the workplace. The Virginia Grapevine: African-American Women’s Higher Education Collaborative
Initiated in 2008, the Grapevine started with a group called the Roots—a group of well respected academics and administrators from across the state interested in fostering a community of healthy, productive, and balanced Black/African-American women engaged or interested in higher educational careers. This organization brings together key faculty and administrators from colleges and universities across the state for the purposes of enhancing personal and professional development, encouraging community involvement, and promoting institutional collaboration.
