Housing

Honors housing is more than just a room; it’s an opportunity to be a part of a community of scholars. Living in honors housing opens the door to interacting with other honors students, participating in seminars and activities and being actively involved in The Honors College. For an inside glimpse at life in the honors community, explore our virtual tour of The Honors College building.

Honors housing for continuing students

All continuing honors students are invited to apply for on-campus housing by submitting the Honors Housing Contract and Application to The Honors College office. Space for continuing students is limited, so a lottery process is run for room assignments. Honors housing is not guaranteed for all continuing students. To be eligible for honors housing you must:

  1. Be a member of The Honors College in good standing with a cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.5.
  2. Remain active in The Honors College by attending at least three Berglund seminars each semester, as well as enrolling in at least one honors course or module per academic year.
  3. Have no disciplinary sanctions against you from Residence Education.

Additional information will be sent to continuing students about the honors housing sign up process via the Honors College Weekly Update in late fall. Please contact Mrs. Connolly with any questions.

Honors housing for first-year students

First-year students interested in living in honors housing should indicate so on the housing application by selecting The Honors College as their first choice. Applications are available for incoming first-year students online through the Housing Office. You do not need to fill out a separate application for housing through The Honors College. Please note that rooms are assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis, thus you are encouraged to apply early. Honors housing is not guaranteed.

All honors students are expected to remain active in The Honors College while living in honors housing. To remain active, students must attend at least three Berglund seminars each semester, as well as enroll in at least one honors course or module per academic year.
